Time to Sample Some Flavors: SundaeSwap Testnet Goes Live!

presentational

SundaeSwap, one of the first Dapps developed on the Cardano network, has just launched its test network. SundaeSwap is similar to the dApps such as UniSwap and SushiSwap. SundaeSwap will be the first DEX to ever be created on Cardano.

Time to Sample Some Flavors: SundaeSwap Testnet Goes Live!

Many of us are familiar with DEX’s such as SushiSwap, PancakeSwap, and of course UniSwap. Now, as of December 5th, 2021, Cardano has its own clone of Decentralized exchange: SundaeSwap. In this piece we will be taking a look at SundaySwap, which one of the first dApps to be deployed on the Cardano network.

What is SundaeSwap

As you may have guessed from the name, SundaeSwap aims to be the Cardano blockchain counterpart to the Ethereum Dapps Uniswap and PancakeSwap. SundaeSwap is aiming to be Cardano’s Leading DEX, as well as a hub for future DEX offerings on Cardano. Unlike many other DEXes, SundaeSwap’s frontend will be hosted on the Interplanetary File System AKA IPFS, making it 100% decentralized by nature.

ADA Stake

The SundaeSwap token – SUNDAE – will be initially distributed amongst anyone who has staked ADA in the initial SundaeSwap staking pool. The SUNDAE token supply will be distributed as such:

Testnet Purposes

Testnets serve several purposes; the first of which is to put a stop to any potential future problems before they start. The development team behind projects like this will launch a testnet so that thousands of users can view the project with a fresh set of eyes. Developers will often spend so much time looking at a project that bugs can often slip by undetected. The solution: open the project up to a pool of individuals who will represent the larger mainnet when the project goes live, to sift through the project. The team is expecting bugs to be present within the network, therefore users of the testnet are encouraged to report any issues which they may come across to the development team, via a forum SundaeSwap has set up on Google Docs.

How to Participate in a Testnet

If you would like to participate in the SundaeSwap testnet, you can simply follow these easy steps which are listed out in the official SundaeSwap Testnet announcement:
