Tech Executives are Quitting Their Jobs to Work in Crypto

There is a new trend happening within the tech world. For the first time in history, tech executives are resigning their positions from companies such as Google, Amazon, and Apple, to work for cryptocurrency startups! In fact, over 350 employees for various tech companies recently applied for jobs with cryptocurrency startup, Unstoppable Domains, within a period of 2 days. In this piece, we will take a look at a few of the Silicon Valley bigshots who are now pursuing new careers within the world of crypto!

David Marcus

For years, David Marcus has led a long and distinguished career as the head of cryptocurrency efforts for Facebook’s parent company, the recently rebranded Meta. In a recent tweet however, Marcus stated that he will be leaving Meta by the end of the year, to pursue his “entrepreneurial DNA.” According to two sources, Marcus plans to work on his own cryptocurrency project, although he has thus far declined to comment in any detail on the specifics of his plan.

Surojit Chatterjee

Surojit Chatterjee has served as the vice president of Google for some time. as many of us know, Google has consistently been more reluctant to board the crypto train than most large tech companies, but the same cannot be said for Chatterjee. About a year and a half ago, Chatterjee left resigned his position to become the chief product officer of crypto exchange giant, Coinbase. Around the time Coinbase went public, Chatterjee’s stake in the company went up by more than $600 million in value. Perhaps even more impressively, Chatterjee made all that money after working for Coinbase for only 14 months.

Jack Dorsey

Perhaps the most notorious case of an executive leaving their company to work in cryptocurrency is none other than former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. Before stepping down last month, Dorsey rebranded his other brainchild Square as “Block” in homage to blockchain technology. Dorsey stepped down from Twitter in order to focus solely on both cryptocurrency and web3 technology.

Conclusion

Because of individuals like this, cryptocurrency is being taken more seriously every day. At this rate we may very well see the million-dollar Bitcoin become a reality in as short as 10 years from now.
