Killer Whale at ETHDenver: February 14th Overview

Killer Whale Crypto is currently attending ETHDenver: The largest and longest running ETH event in the world! ETHDenver is a community innovation festival that is entirely focused on the amazing breakthroughs that are taking place in DeFi and web3 development! Throughout this event, we will be taking a look at some of the amazing things that are happening in DeFi and Ethereum firsthand!

ETHDenver Goes Into Full Swing!

The first conferences that took place during the beginning of ETHDenver were hosted at the Denver Art Hotel, and were entirely centric around web3 development and the ETHDenver hackathon; however, today, February 14th 2022, the conference space for ETHDenver expanded into several other locations which will be used for the duration of the event. These locations include several concert venues and art galleries that are located several blocks away from the main stage at the Denver Art Hotel.

Celebrating Women in Web3

Out of all of the various conferences which we attended today, “Celebrating Women in Web3” was by far the most culturally relevant. This conference, which was hosted by the Harmony (ONE) project, was focused on the gender imbalance which currently exists within the world of cryptocurrency and web3 development. Currently the majority of cryptocurrency holders, traders and web3 project developers are by in large males. The goal of this conference was to emphasize how important it is to balance the gender ratio within the cryptocurrency and web3 development communities. The growth of crypto, web3 and society as a whole rests upon the shoulders of those who embrace diversity and gender equality. It’s incredibly unfortunate that gender inequality still plays a role in modern day society, therefore it is up to each and every one of us to lay the ignorant and outdated idea that men are better than women to rest.

The advancement of cryptocurrency and web3 technology will do nothing but improve as we work to create a healthy balance of both men and women within the industry. Simply put, we all do better when we all do better. The entire point of decentralized technology is to level the playing field so that we can all be equal builders and contributors within a global community; therefore, we have a responsibility to make sure everyone within this community is encouraged to participate and that everyone is treated with the same respect as one another.

February 14th proved to be an excellent day of interaction with many of the developers that are making web3 and DeFi possible.
